Nails, Etc: Zoya Anaka

Zoya_1

As I mentioned in my Ulta haul post, I wanted to pick up a couple of Zoya polishes while I was in the States, because they’re not available here. Zoya Anaka caught my eye with its slight metallic edge and I thought it would be a nice colour to wear during the holidays as an alternative to the classic red.

Zoya_2I hadn’t packed a base or top coat with me, so I had to apply this straight on my nails. I don’t really remember the last time I painted my nails without using a top coat, so I was curious to see how well this would last. It applied really smoothly and I liked its opacity — it definitely needed two layers but it didn’t feel streaky or uneven. That said, one thing I noticed what how long this took to dry. I’d painted my nails as we were watching an old Supernatural episode on Netflix and about 20 minutes after I’d painted them, I reached for something and accidentally knocked my thumb against something and it immediately created a groove in the polish. In terms of chipping/lasting power — the tips chipped slightly with a couple of days, in a way that it didn’t look bad, it just didn’t feel polished (pun intended). The lasting power otherwise was pretty solid.

What do you think of Zoya nailpolishes?
