Some of you may have noticed that I didn’t upload any posts this week. I’ve been pretty good about sticking to my schedule in general, but this week’s been pretty taxing. I have a lot going on at work and in life in general, so I’ve decided that I need to step back from the beauty blog for a little while. I’m hoping I’ll be back in a couple of weeks or so.
All the best,
A friend of mine was taking me out to a belated birthday dinner last week (see the look I sported for it on my Instagram), but I arrived at the restaurant before her. Across the street is a gallery I like, so I popped in there to have a look at the latest exhibition. Naturally, I couldn’t help but browse the gift shop, too, which I love because it’s filled with independent, Bahraini designers.
One of my absolute pet peeves when it comes to candle is tunnelling — when it burns down the centre and leaves wax around the edge. It’s a mild irritation with cheap candles, but when it’s a candle I’ve splurged on it’s a full-blown aggravation.
I had come to realise that while for the last year I’d really been into contouring, I didn’t actually have a contour powder. I had always used the NARS Laguna bronzer. To be honest, I still think it does a great job and it’s great to use, especially when I’m travelling and want to cut down on what I take with me. That said, I thought I’d fill the contour-gap in my collection.
This is the final haul from my US trip in December/January. I dragged my friend to Sephora with me and had him give me opinions on lipsticks for an hour… the man is saintly. Hilariously, he told me the one he liked best was the one I was wearing when we walked in the shop — I nearly bust a seam laughing because I hadn’t been wearing any lipstick at all!
